Of all the illnesses you can develop, psychological and neurological problems are frequently the most life disruptive. These maladies often lead to a loss of mental and/or neurological functioning, which may involve a loss of reality. If you suffer with a psychological or neurological illness, you do have the chance to regain your mental health, if you are willing to consider that you might have candidiasis.
Candidiasis is a complex, multi-systemic condition. It involves an infection with one or more species of disease-causing yeast. Their allergy-inducing (antigenic) nature, especially Candida albicans, can promote numerous allergic reactions within the body. Moreover, their chronic presence promotes an abundance of inflammation, which only escalates the bodily disturbances.
There are three stages:
1. Gastrointestinal candidiasis occurs when disease-causing yeast colonize the gut interior.
2. Invasive candidiasis starts when the disease-causing yeast invade into the gut wall and colonize it.
3. Systemic candidiasis involves the disease-causing yeast progressing to invade and enter the blood, where they can travel throughout the body and take up residence wherever conditions permit. Disease-causing yeast can also gain access to the lungs and invade into and through the respiratory tissues.
Can candidiasis cause psychological and neurological illnesses? Absolutely!
The colonization of one or more species of disease-causing yeast within your body involves a spectrum of disturbances. When you include the adverse effects of other infectious invaders (like harmful parasites, bacteria, molds, and/or viruses), the variety of internal infectious, allergic, metabolic, and inflammatory consequences can easily disrupt your brain’s functioning.
Add in the contributions of heavy metals within our food and water supply, environmental toxins, and other harmful substances, and the cause of neurodegenerative diseases is easier to understand. Although the candidiasis–neurodegenerative disease connections are discussed in each book version, the medical-scientific details can be found in the "Perplexing Puzzle" - chapter 10, the "Psychological & Neurological Manifestations" of candidiasis.
Chronic candidiasis is often associated with a variety of mental manifestations, including moodiness, anxiety, phobias, panic attacks, PMS-related mental problems, depression, bipolar disorder (manic-depression), obsessive-compulsive disorder, schizophrenia, memory problems, concentration difficulties, various headaches, seizures, neurodegenerative diseases, alcoholism, and probably much, much more. Unfortunately, adults are not the only ones affected because children can have mental manifestations as well (“Unraveling Candidiasis” – chapter 12).
The chronic presence of disease-causing yeast (and other infectious invaders) within your body will disrupt your neuroendocrine-immune system to varying degrees. In return, this will promote neurological, endocrine (hormone), and immune system disturbances.
Why do mainstream physicians continue to dismiss and ignore candidiasis? With all the medical science, studies, and technological advances that have occurred within the last one hundred years, you might think mainstream physicians would have a greater understanding of the adverse effects of harmful fungi (yeasts and molds) within the human body, especially disease-causing yeast.
On October 25, 2022, the World Health Organization released its first-ever list of health-threatening fungi. They stated, “Emerging from the shadows of the bacterial antimicrobial resistance pandemic, fungal infections are growing, and are ever more resistant to treatments, becoming a public health concern worldwide.” Their most dangerous (“critical”) group includes Cryptococcus neoformans (an encapsulated yeast), Aspergillus fumigatus (a harmful mold), Candida albicans, and Candida auris. Like most mainstream physicians, they only recognize the obvious and advanced cases, and the subclinical presentations are consistently overlooked.
In contrast to mainstream medical thinking, candidiasis affects a much greater percentage of the human population than is currently appreciated, and the number of its sufferers is only increasing. The infectious and allergic consequences of disease-causing yeast adversely affect the human body directly and indirectly, blatantly and subtly, overtly and covertly. If you have any frequent, recurring, or chronic illness, you are likely to be a candidiasis sufferer.
When you study the medical science and research, and have the clinical experience to back it up, you might appreciate that the colonization of one or more species of disease-causing yeast within your body can contribute to compromising your good mental health.
